The Interaction technology course is part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uu.nl\/bachelors\/informatica\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Computer Science <\/a>bachelor curriculum at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uu.nl\/organisatie\/departement-informatica\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department of Information and Computing Sciences<\/a> at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uu.nl\/organisatie\/faculteit-betawetenschappen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Faculty of Science<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<p>The intended audience of this site consists of the students enrolled for the Interaction technology course.<\/p>\r\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/herlaar.net\/b3it\/assignment\/objectives\/\">embedded systems and sensors assignment<\/a> takes place during the first few weeks of the Interaction technology course. It offers an introduction into the world of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Physical_computing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">physical computing<\/a> in general and more specifically the <a href=\"http:\/\/arduino.cc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Arduino<\/a> platform. It focuses on the technical aspects of sensing and manipulating our analog world through digital means by using a microcontroller in combination with sensors and actuators.<\/p>\r\n<p>The assignment starts with a mandatory <a href=\"https:\/\/herlaar.net\/b3it\/start-here\/signing-up-for-soldering\/\">soldering workshop<\/a>, for which some hardware must be <a href=\"https:\/\/herlaar.net\/b3it\/start-here\/acquiring-your-kit\/\">acquired<\/a>. The assignment is supported by a number of lectures, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/herlaar.net\/b3it\/assignment\/support\/\">practical assistance<\/a>, in addition to this site. The participants need to create an embedded, smart and interactive device using the hardware they acquired.<\/p>\r\n<p>The soldering workshops, practical sessions and <a href=\"https:\/\/lilis-protolab.sites.uu.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">prototyping facilities<\/a> are hosted by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uu.nl\/en\/research\/scientific-instrumentation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Scientific Instrumentation<\/a> department of the Faculty of Science, for which we are very grateful.
